Kim: “The inspiration for this painting comes from my reflection on my own child’s innocence & vulnerability & that of all children. Every child has the right to dream of a bright future.
‘Hope’ is for a future where children are encouraged & nurtured by their families & communities to reach their full potential, without any limitations being imposed on them. ‘Hope’ is also for a future which is free from the disadvantage faced by previous generations & from the struggles which are still being faced today.
I’ve tried to capture the innocence & vulnerability of the child by drawing the viewer into the child’s gaze.”
My ancestors come from Wiradjuri Nation. The largest Aboriginal group from Central New South Wales. Australia.
